The company was originally incorporated as CUVEST Pharmaceuticals.
From its inception in 1950, CUVEST has specialized in
the marketing and distribution of finished pharmaceutical
and biological products. Among its first principals
were Wyeth Laboratories, Armour Pharmaceuticals, Institut
Merieux, and Institut Pasteur. All have since assumed
domestic marketing and distribution of their respective
products after CUVEST's trailblazing efforts to make
their products market leaders. The later principals
represented were Bausch & Lomb (USA), Dexxon (Israel),
Egis (Hungary), G. Richter (Hungary) and Solco (Switzerland).
In 1988, a second company called PharmAsia, Inc. was
formed specifically to market to hospitals and the government
sector. It had its own field force and office staff.
The companies it represented were Astrapin (Germany)
and Stada (Germany).
Notwithstanding the success of both companies, the Board
of Directors decided to merge CUVEST and PharmAsia at
the end of 2000. Both companies stood to benefit from
improved operational efficiency, as well as complementation
in marketing activities.
Thus, in January of 2001, a new company called PharmAsia-Cuvest,
Inc. was formed out of the merger. Both ownership and
top management structure remained essentially unchanged.
PharmAsia-Cuvest, Inc. continues to represent and distribute
high quality off-patent
pharmaceuticals manufactured by its principals in Europe
and in Asia.
Currently in the process of being organized is our CONSUMER HEALTH DIVISION.Its vision is to provide the Filipino customer and patient with direct access to truly innovative and beneficial health and cosmetic products.
